Chair of Academic Board Expressions of Interest

The University is seeking Expressions of Interest for the role of Chair of Academic Board. 

As per the Academic Board Charter, the Vice-Chancellor in consultation with the Board, makes a recommendation to Council for the appointment of the Chair for a period of two years.

Working closely with the Vice-Chancellor and Council, the Chair of Academic Board manages and supervises the functions and business of the University’s Academic Board, with secretariat support provided by the University Governance Office. The objective of the Board is to ensure that the University maintains the highest standards in teaching, scholarship and research.

The Chair will facilitate communications between the academic community of the University, the University Executive and Council. Subject to delegated authority from Council and decisions of Academic Board, the Chair will apportion authority for carrying out the functions of Academic Board to other members of Academic Board. The Chair will ensure that Academic Board carries out its responsibilities under its Charter, including in relation to regulatory requirements and monitoring of academic risks.
