Mr Stephen Jaggers

Stephen Jaggers is a partner in commercial law firm Mallesons, where he has worked since his admission as a solicitor in October 1992. 

In that time he has practiced in the banking and finance, corporate, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) teams. Stephen specialises in financial services, investments, government M&A and corporate governance. He is ranked by Chambers as a Government specialist (Band 2)

Stephen has held leadership roles at Mallesons including as a partner (since 1 January 2008), Partner-in-Charge of the Canberra Office (July 2011 – June 2020) and member of the Remuneration Committee (elected by partners for 2 terms - July 2014 – 30 June 2020). He has also served 6 years on the firm’s Board and is currently on the firm’s Risk Committee. 

Stephen currently serves on Bishop-in-Council (the peak governing body) of the Anglican Diocese of Canberra and Goulburn. He has previously held board positions with Anglicare, Canberra Grammar School and Australian Services Roundtable.

Stephen was born in Canberra and has had a long association with the ANU. Stephen has two degrees from the Australian National University: BSc (1990) and LLB (Hons) (1992). Two of his three children hold degrees from the ANU.
