2026 Immersia: Malaysian Ketupat Weaving & Cultural Dinner

Presented by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵCollege of Asia & the Pacific

Weave your way into Malaysian culture at this hands-on evening of food, tradition and connection. Learn how to make a ketupat, a traditional palm-leaf rice pouch long associated with Malaysian festive celebrations, with friendly volunteers on hand to guide you every step of the way.

Afterwards, swap weaving for feasting as everyone comes together to enjoy a delicious Malaysian cultural dinner. Whether you come for the craft, the culture or the cuisine, you will leave with new skills, new connections and a deeper appreciation of Malaysian traditions.

This event is supported by ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵStudent Life and is a collaboration between the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵSchool of Culture, History & Language, the Malaysian Students Organisation, the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵMalaysia Institute and the ACT Association of Malaysian Muslim Families.
