In Conversation: Dr Lachlan Goold (Magoo) with Dr Pat O’Grady

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµSchool of Music is pleased to welcome Dr Lachlan Goold for a public conversation on music production and practice.

Professionally known as Magoo, he is one of Australia’s most influential music producers and a two-time ARIA Award winner. Across his career, he has worked with a wide range of significant artists, including Powderfinger, Regurgitator, Midnight Oil, Skunkhour, Custard, Jebediah, Shihad, Spiderbait, Gerling, Renee Geyer, Kate Miller-Heidke, Operator Please, The Jungle Giants, and Art vs Science, among many others.

Dr Goold is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of the Sunshine Coast. His research spans practice-based approaches to music production, theoretical uses of space, regional music scenes, and the contemporary music industry. He is co-author of Regurgitator’s Unit (Bloomsbury, 33 1/3 series, 2022).

The event will take the form of a conversation followed by audience Q&A.
