The Chancellor appointment process is progressing well, and the application period has now closed. 

The Panel has met on several occasions to consider the requirements of the role, including feedback gathered through the Chancellor survey conducted across the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵcommunity. The Panel has also reviewed the key attributes and capabilities sought in the next Chancellor, as well as a range of potential candidates.

A shortlist has now been established. These candidates will participate in both informal and formal discussions with the Chair and members of the Panel before the Panel undertakes its final deliberations.

Following completion of this process, the Panel will submit its recommendation to the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵCouncil for their consideration.

Subject to the planned timeline, the appointment process is expected to be finalised by late August or early September 2026.

New to ANU? How to: ANU is a free, self-paced online course designed to help commencing international students get ready for university life.

The course covers everything from enrolment and choosing courses to accommodation, Orientation and the support services available across ANU. You'll also receive a practical student checklist to help you stay on track before and during your first semester.

Complete the course and all activities by the end of week two to receive a free coffee voucher – a little reward for setting yourself up for a successful start at ANU.

Finding Balance – Handling Life's Pressures and Regulating Intense Emotions is a four-week small-group program that uses evidence-based Dialectical Behaviour Therapy techniques to help you manage stress, regulate emotions, build resilience, and navigate the pressures of university life with greater confidence.

Whether you're returning to campus or settling into a new routine, this supportive program will help you develop practical skills to stay balanced throughout the semester.

Students can now submit Course Late Withdrawal Outcome Appeals through a new online form in , replacing the previous email-based process. The streamlined form makes it easier to provide supporting information and documentation when lodging an appeal. For support, contact Student Conduct and Appeals at integrity@anu.edu.au. 

Are you the first in your family to attend university? Are you from a rural area, or identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, or a student with a disability? Domestic undergraduate students who come from a traditionally underrepresented background are encouraged to participate in an interview to share their experiences and feelings about their time at ANU. 

The study can help inform future programs, support and services at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵfor students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Join the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵFilm Group, the Mathematical Sciences Institute and the Embassy of Ireland for a screening of Beat the Lotto, the fascinating true story of a mathematician's attempt to outsmart Ireland's National Lottery. The evening includes a short mathematics talk and light refreshments.
