Applying to Confer

Most students do not need to apply to confer.

If you are completing your program in Semester 1 or Semester 2 and expect to confer in the July or December conferral round, you generally do not need to apply to confer your award.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵwill automatically assess your eligibility to confer based on your academic record and enrolment.

You do not need to apply if:

• you are enrolled or active in your program in the semester immediately preceding the conferral round; or
• you have previously been approved to confer and have deferred your conferral.

You need to apply if:

• you had no active enrolment in your program in the semester immediately preceding the conferral round;
• you are an ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵstudent undertaking study at another institution on a cross-institutional or exchange basis;
• you are enrolled in a double degree and wish to confer one award separately;
• you have applied to transfer course credit to your current program; or
• you have been transferred to a new program following academic progression proceedings.

How to apply

If you meet one of the criteria above and need to apply to confer your award, you can submit your application through ANUHub:

Graduation > Apply to Graduate

If you are completing cross-institutional or exchange study, you must arrange for an official transcript from the external institution to be provided to the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵand request that the relevant course credit be applied to your program.

This must be completed by:

• 1 June for the July conferral round; or
• 1 November for the December conferral round.

Out of Session Conferral

If you have completed all requirements for your award, you may be eligible to confer outside the regular July and December conferral rounds.

Applications can be submitted throughout the year; however, exclusion periods apply in July and December.
